What does the Positive Response consultancy service provide?

Positive Response offers a consultancy service to a wide range of organisations and individuals who provide care and who may be experiencing difficulties supporting individuals with learning disabilities who display challenging behaviours whilst living in either formal or family care settings. These services are provided by specialists who have extensive experience working in the field of challenging behaviour and Positive Behaviour Support.

Consultancy services may be offered as a follow-up to purchasers of Positive Behaviour Management training and may include advice about ecological factors, data collection and analysis and producing Positive Behaviour Support plans.  Advice may be provided regarding the application of physical interventions and, if found to be appropriate, provide individually focused bespoke training solutions.

In addition this extended service has been found to be highly valuable for organisations that have trained trainers and feel that they may benefit from advice on how the PBM approach may be integrated into all aspects of the organisational systems. We can also offer a mentoring service for newly qualified trainers.

The consultancy service is also available to organisations and families who do not currently use the PBM approach but may either be seeking advice regarding behaviour difficulties or training for carers. Positive Response Consultancy should be considered as a complementary addition to most behavioural management strategies already being used by organisations. The input from Positive Response will focus on how and why the behaviour is occurring within the care setting and explore solutions which may include additional staff training being provided.
